This shot is from the top of Chupadera Peak, about 80 miles south of Albuquerque. The Rio Grand flows in the valley yonder, and in days gone by, natural marshes nourished by the river furnished winter habitat for ducks, geese and sandhill cranes. The government has taken control of several of those areas and managed them. These shots are from the largest of those refuges, known as Bosque del Apache. Follow the arrows forward and backwards.
